About Gelert Pet Nutrition
Gelert Pet Nutrition is a wholly independent family owned pet food manufacturer founded in 1982. We operate two state of the art manufacturing plants within the historic and beautiful county of Carmarthenshire, in Rural West Wales. Our sole commitment is to produce consistent, premium foods of uncompromising quality. To achieve this, we work closely with a number of trusted suppliers from whom we select the most wholesome, flavoursome and nutritious ingredients. The foods are then freshly manufactured at our own modern factories each week - this is your guarantee of freshness and quality. All our foods are based tried and tested formulations, and as such, are used by a wide variety of professional users and enthusiast alike, and have been fed to many generations of dogs.

Ingredient Sourcing
Gelert ingredient sourcing and processing meet or exceed standards for pet food, and fulfils all the essential demands contained within the following standards and regulations:
- FEDIAF (the European pet food federation) Code of Practice
- BRC (British retail Consortium) - All our manufacturing plants operate according to, and are accredited to BRC Food Standards, as audited by EFSIS
- Every supplier of ingredients for Gelert products must meet our stringent standards for ingredient specifications, product safety, sanitation and manufacturing practices.
Ingredient Testing
- Gelert's manufacturing facilities have on-site quality assurance laboratories and staff, as well as the use of independent analytical labs for raw material testing.
Ingredient Tracking, Traceability & Control
- 100% of all the Gelert pet food products sold in the U.K. are made in Gelert-owned U.K. manufacturing facilities.
- Our comprehensive tracking and tracability system ensures important measures of control: All raw ingredients are tracked from time of receipt at our plants, through their inclusion in finished products, and on to retail stores.
Obviously, we take great care making the Gelert food enjoyed by your dog. (After all, it's the same food we feed our dogs.)
